About the artist
Christchurch New Zealand based artist Jörg Engelbrecht was brought up in Switzerland and moved to New Zealand in 1995. He has been honing his painting skills for over a decade and is a full-time artist. Jörg uses specific techniques to create his work. He reconstructs aspects of natural forms and textures. His intention is to bring the viewer into a world that they are familiar with and feel comfortable with. He would like the viewer to connect subconsciously, to get drawn into discovering the paintings aspects and to be enriched by the formal beauty of the abstract form. Jörg's work is represented by selected galleries throughout New Zealand and has collectors around the world.
